State of county drainage
Our region has been shaped by county drainage infrastructure and it affects every county homeowner. However, through the growth of the county, capacity has been exceeded and our outlets are overgrown and backed-up. The consequences have been property damage, flooding stress, and agricultural losses to our residents and farmers. We need more drainage capacity and improved maintenance strategies to avoid future negative consequences.
My Vision
I envision a system that reduces long term maintenance efforts of our critical downstream outlets, keeping them clean and fully capable. This will allow us to rebuild the 100-year-old infrastructure critical to our population centers, enabling continued growth without placing the stress of that expansion on our agricultural land. Lastly, I see a system that will be improved as our county grows, as opposed to growth chipping away at capacity.
